I dont look at anything. Sometimes all of a sudden i come too and im a mile down the road and dont even remember it. But i shift by sound, and i can feel when the torque drops

I don't have a tach at all, so I have to shift by sound...

 

When you say you forget you have no sixth gear, you don't put it in reverse trying to get to sixth do you???

 

It is impossible to slide from 5th to reverse. Safety reasons.

 

i shift by sound final, what rpms do you usually shift at. im about 3-4k and then i shift from the sound.

i dont think i have ever looked at the shift **** while shifting or at the tach. i just go by sound. which leads me to a question, what rpm is the best to shift at under normal driving conditions? i have to shift at like 2000 in town because the cops dont like us for some reason and i have to keep my exhaust noise to a minimum. but the weird thing is that my exhaust is so loud that when im out in the country i shift at 3500 because it gets to loud and i cant take much more of it.

 

When i drive stick, when it is around town just driving casually, i don't look at the tack, but when i want to get the most out of the engine i will glance at the tach just before i shift. but i don't think i have ever looked at the shifter when shifting... roto i said it before you a wack job j/p man

 

damn you must really not like looking at the road to look all the way down to your shifter.
