Oopsss...
I'm darn near panicing here...ugh.
I was out running errands and was waiting to make a right turn at a signal. There wasn't enough room for me to pass the through traffic on the right but the truck in front of me scooted up a bit to let me pass. It was darn tight, but I fit, except for about 2" of my driver's side mirror which clipped his passenger side one. I was going less than a mile an hour. The truck was an old Toyota, sort of beat up, and there wasn't even a mirror pane in his mirror housing. His passenger moved his mirror back into place, and gave me a surprised look which I returned. I made my right as the light turned green soon after, and they made no attempt to follow me (and I was watching and going slow too).
I checked out the mirror and I have a very slight scrape on my mirror housing (I have a DX with the black mirror housings), nothing I can't fix with a little plastic dye. I did see a speck of chrome in it, which flaked off. I really don't think I did any damage to the truck since my car's the one missing plastic, and it seems like the plastic from my car would just brush off his mirror (anyone care to confirm?).
But I'm scared to death that they're going to call a hit and run on me. I know I'm getting overstressed over it, but I tend to do that. Should I take the fact that they didn't follow me as an indication that they figured life goes on and no harm was done? Man I am so kicking myself for not rolling the window down and asking if the mirror was damaged. Ugh...

RE: Oopsss...
You have nothing to worry about.......you're a female! If they call hit and run, just tell the cops the opposite, that they hit you and ran, but you never reported it since they didn't break anything.
Who are the cops gonna believe, 2 guys in a beat up truck, or a girl batting her eyelashes? The girl of course!

That is evil man.
They probably didn't care. If they wanted to make a stink about it they would have at the scene. If they call in a hit and run the cop will probably just ask why he didn't try to stop you to talk about it in the first place. You made eye contact after the fact and the driver of the other vehicle made no attempt to have you stop. Just remember that. You will be fine, just stop panicing. It's not good for you and it causes premature wrinkles.
