odometer swap

Default odometer swap

i have a 96 civic ex and i got another cluster from someone cuz i was gonna do an cluster swap but the cluster that i got from the guy has broken gas and temp pins. how can i swap jus the odometer? i was having trouble cuz the odometer reading is behind the pin for the speedometer. can anyone tell me how to do an odometer swap? thanks.

well go get one from the scrap yard same year, and then you can fool around with getting it out so you no how to get yours out without breaking anything, pop yours out and put the new one in (dont forget to remeber were all the needles were at), all the electrical stuff in the back just clips toughter

Ok here: take your gauges out, and take all the trim and covers off so it's just plain gauges and white plastic behind them on both of them. Then behind the gas and temp guage face there's four screws(maybe 6 I don't remember,) take them out on both of them and just switch out that set of gauges. Then when you have them switched, put it all back together and you're set, you'll have your odometer and speedo, your tach and the working gas and temp gauges!
