need help deciding (yes one of these again lawlz)
SSsssssooo...
Here's the deal. Over the weekend, my car decided to develop an intermittent knock. Not a great sign, right? So I need a car to get to work and back and whatnot. However, I can't quite decide where to go from here.
Option 1:
Keep the mustang, take out a personal loan ($4k, 2-year) for either an EG or EK coupe. Build the engine (stroked to 4.3L, big lumpy cam) in the mustang, profit.
Pros:
-Two cars again, ****!
-Stroked, cammed mustang
-obviously the civic won't stay stock
-cheapest option upfront
-DD and weekend warrior (mustang + snow = drive to work sideways!)
Cons:
-Insurance on two cars
-It's going to get expensive (I can't keep anything stock)
-Keeping gas in two cars
-One car garage, not the best neighborhood. One car will have to sleep outside with serious break-in potential.
-There's no telling how quickly I'd have the mustang up and running
Option 2:
Sell (or trade in) the mustang, get an AP1/AP2
Pros:
-S2000
-6spd manual transmission
-hellaflush potential
-Insurance difference should be negligible
-RWD
Cons:
-relatively torqueless
-soft top convertible
-pricey. I know my taste in mods and it's not cheap
-no winter car (S2K + snow = drive to work sideways!)
-steep driveways (like mine!)
-~$10,000 debt
Option 3
Sell (or trade in) the mustang and buy a Z33 (Nissan 350Z).
Pros:
-that exhaust note. :drools:
-6spd manual
-hellaflush potential
-Insurance difference would be negligible
-V6 and readily available TT kits
-RWD
Cons:
-Not a huge fan of the body work. I can't pinpoint it but there's something about it that I don't love
-no winter car (350Z + snow = drive to work sideways!)
-large car loan (~$10k)
-Like options 1 and 2, it won't be cheap. Also, 350Z parts aren't cheap in the first place.
Option 4:
Sell (or trade in) the mustang, buy a DC5 (Type-S of course)
Pros:
-FWD (traction in the snow!)
-MoAr hellaflush potential
-6spd manual transmission
-K20A2
-I'm still in love with the body work, three years after first kinda-sorta wanting one
-ITR wing. Don't question it, you know if I buy a DC5 it'll get an ITR wing.
-Insurance, if anything, could potentially go down
-A ton of relatively cheap mod potential
-Could potentially rival Option 1 for lowest upfront cost
Cons:
-Lack of RWD. Honestly, it'll completely be a mental thing (I don't kick the back end out anymore anyway), but I still don't like it.
-The RSX is considered a 'chick car' by a lot of people
-Torqueless (relatively)
-Starts out cheap, will definitely get very expensive (though probably not as expensive as Option 1)
Now, nothing will happen in the next few months as my budget is pretty tight right now, and my current fix is going to be to throw some Lucas in with my next oil change and hopefully it'll shut the car up for a while. I don't want an auto loan (or at least a big one), but at this point I'm pretty much going to have to go that route. The largest loan I'd be willing to take out would be around $10k, and even that I wouldn't be happy about.
Opinions?

This is an obvious one for me...DC5's are cheaper anyway (than a 350z or having both or having that s2000). About the same price as EP3's, irrelevant info here but still. So i say get one of them!
