I'm pretty sure Marty is right, my g/f's friend went to thedoctor and they had to ask her if they could tell her parents that she was active, she said no so they couldn't tell her mom.

the doctor cannot give out ur info to anyone. thats why there is a privacy act. a doctor also done that to me. yes u can sue them for it.

Parents of minors are allowed access to medical records as long as the minor does not have an STD/Abortion. She's 17, her mother had the legal right to know. That's my understanding of the law in TN

yes it is illegal...and yes you could sue them...and yes you would get a **** ton of money for it....and i agree with marty 200%

The laws vary from state to state so in Marty's state it might be illegal and in some1 else's state it might be totally legal. If you under 18, I think that the doctor can tell you parents anything they want.

Yup. I almost said something about that. You should contact the state board of medicine and inform them that the doctor breached your trust. They will fine him, and might revoke his license if he has done it before.
