Japan should be allowed to build its offensive military and contribute to the West.
agreed. Given the fact that Japaese technology is superior to ours it would give the West even bigger advantage
False! Japan does not have the infrastructure like the USA does... Japan is a nation of copycats. Just like BASF, they NEVER create anything without loopholing american patents and simply improving on the idea. Japan only seems more advanced because they intensify everything they steal from the US.

Why does everyone think Bush isnt doing a good job? When was the last time a terrorist act occured in a coalition country? I rest my case. And dont say Spain because they were on the fence since day one!

Someone didn't say Saddam had WMDs, some1 lied that Saddam had WMDs. Also, we rushed to war so word wouldn't get out that Saddam did not infact have any WMDs. The Bush admin used alot of faulty intellegence (such as forged documents) to "prove" that Saddam had WMDs, i consider this lying.

that's true - they copy the basics from others. However, they improve things greatly. For example - they can copy an american car, but in the same time, they make it 10x better. IDK, I'm sure you know more about Japan then any other member on this board - you are Japanese after all

I think you guys misunderstood here. In order to help Japan back to their feet after 2 nuclear bombs, the US sent hundred of billions and technologies to Japan (we need allies next to the Soviet at the time) also Japan bought alot of patents instead of research from the start. And that my friends, is called the shortcut to success.
