Hey everyone. This is just offhand talk, but I just picked up a black 1G DSM AWD (turbo, of course) for $300(!) on Tuesday. The owner just wanted to get rid of it because the engine had "mysteriously stopped running" (after which someone bricked the DS window to steal the radar detector). The guy had driven the car 100k without replacing the TB, and the smaller belt for the harmonic balencer had snapped and cut right through the TB (I found all this out when I tore the engine apart). For even more fun, the intake valves reamed big-*** indents in the tops of the pistons (so now it's higher displacement... ) and all the intake valves are bent. Plus, 3 of the rockers popped and their lifters blew out and cracked the valve cover. But for $300, I'm not complaining... 4G63's kick sooo much ***.

Speaking of which, I took the S14 out today after adjusting the boost and BOV's, and while I was on the freeway, a black EVO VIII rolled up on me. Well, out of utter respect for the car (and as I imagine any one of us would do), I flashed him a thumbs-up. He obviously didn't recognize what I was driving, so he just waved and took off. I'm not sure if he was able to read the name off the back of my car, since I laid a pretty big patch passing him in 2nd...

4G63... RB26DETT... there are just so many perfect engines out there...

 

hey, wouldnt the valve reams lower the compression, not raise the displacement?

 

...then add those together...carry the 7... Yes, I believe you are correct. [sm=sorry.gif]
