depends on how dirty your engine is. And I dont think spraying simple green onto your bumper was a very good idea. It's strong stuff thats meant for cleaning engine components, not the body of the car. Make sure you got the engine degreaser, and not that really cheap all purpose simple green that they sell at home depot for like a dollar a gallon.

i dont think it will hold up ON the header, but on other high temp parts, i got some paint from autozone that says its good for up to 1200 degrees. i used it on my block, tranny, and heat shields with no problems yet. i guess i could try it on the stock manifold and see how it holds up underneath the shield and let everyone know. yeah, ill do that.

Like i said, Im not an engine genious only an audio guru with small but growing engine skills. The header is the top of the engine with the cast honda logo correct? If so or not, I have seen them painted.

no thats the valve cover. the header is the metal piece that connects to the engine, and collects the exhaust gases and sends them to the muffler.

Looks alot better since you cleaned it. I am going to have to do that when it gets nice and the snow finally goes away.

when you covered your bay in simple green did you cover any other electrical connections besides the distributor? Thats the main thing that would worry me. Water getting into various fuse boxes and causing oxidation could be an unreal PITA.

I covered all electrical connections, including the fuse box. Just clean the fuse box cover separately.
