when i did my last swap, i pulled the front end of my car apart and sandblasted it. then i sprayed it black with the really good rattle-can stuff. i did the same to the block and tranny, but i used some high-temp (1200*) paint for that. it looks SWEET! it looks evil now when i open the hood and the blacks all surrounded by the red of the car. cant wait to pass the smog referee crap so i can put all my hi-po stuff off the b16 on this motor, including the red type r valve cover.

I'm using Simple Green, but any engine degreaser should work.

thats what i did, Sprayed about one and a half spray bottles of simple green in the whole engine compartment. but be sure to cover your distributor with a few plastic bags, because once you get water in there, there is no way your car will start for a while. afterwards hose it down with spray, but donot pressure wash it it will ruin you engine and components. wash it onec a a year if even that.....

thanx for the advice. Ive used simple green b4 on my bumper to get some floridian bugs off it (went down there last summer, florida is infamous for bugs on the highway) and I wasnt really please with it, either the bugs must have been baked on my car or my simple green really sucked.
