RE: motorcycle license
You don't need the clutch to shift up (i think Roto told me that) and at risk of blowing my trans i tried it out and it does in fact work. However, my dad says that doing that can put unnecissary stress/wear on the clutch and transmission components. As far as the difference b/w a permit and a license, with a license you can ride at night, with a passanger, and without a licensed rider behind you. You have to have a licensed driver within 500ft (might be less) at all times. Also, the Ninja 250R is a pretty good starter bike, its what i have. It doesn't really make any power until you hit 7k RPM so you can't really get yourself in trouble in the low end. They can be found pretty cheap, between 1k and 2k for a used one. I got my 94 with 5800 miles (and some dents and what not) for $600. I'm looking to get a CBR600F4i (01-04), which I will pay between $3500-$4000 for. Sport bikes lose thier value pretty quick. Also carbs suck *****.
