Default Mazda RX8

well, i got my car over the summer. i have a 2000 honda civic si. there are alot of spoiled people at my school that get everything they want including my cousin which is an only child ( so am i ). she is getting a mazda rx8 and there is already 2 girls at my school in the same grade as all of us with them too. but lets get to the point. i know they have rotary engines or whatever but how fast are they? i mean would it blow my car off the road if one of those girls tried to punch it on me? just wondering because i know nothing about these cars and i am gonna have one sittin in my basement for about a month because it is a surprise for my cousin and she hopefully wont find out.

There is one fatal flaw in all rotaries: NO TORQUE. If both of these cars are being driven by high school girls, you can be almost certain they don't know how to drive an RX8 like you have to to get the printed performance numbers. Assuming they probably shift somewhere around 5,000 on a "wild" day, you could probably hang with them pretty good. And they'd almost certainly miss at least one gear trying to hotrod it. I say give it a shot... if you lose, just tell them the truth: They've got 70 hp on you.

Why?

Hey that's cool man. There was this kid at a neighboring school of mine who got a Ferrari as his first car! He couldn't find a company to insure him because he was fresh with a license and had no experience driving. 3 weeks = totalled. SUCKA!

Simple: No displacement. 1.3 liters doesn't get you a whole lot of oomph, especially when there aren't any cylinders...

eh...the n/a rotary used in the RX8 is a little...underpowered...for my taste. it will, however, own you.

RX-8's are great and all (fast too) but from what I understand they arent favored because they are a royal pain in the *** to mod.

Not necessarily if a 16 year old girl is driving it.
