So this guy at my work installed my alarm for me for $100. Good deal
But I also had some fog lights, that I wanted him to install also, because I figured it could do it right after, and Ive been too busy to do it.
So its Friday May 11th, and I go to work with my alarm and fog lights.
I ask him if I can pay him next time I see him because I didnt know how much he was gonna charge me, and that I would have to run to the bank. He said thats fine.
2 Hours later he finishes my alarm, and says, can you pay me today? Im kinda broke. So I said, if your worried about me not paying, I work with you, I will see you 5 days a week. He says no I just need money for the weekend. So I ask him how much for alarm and fog lights installation. He says $150
($50 for fog lights is alot I know, but he really hooked it up with the alarm so I didnt mind)
I go to the bank on my lunch break, get him the $150 and go back.
I give him the money and he says, I will do the fog lights on monday because Im gonna be gone for the weekend. So Im like great, I paid him in advance and now I have to wait over the weekend.
So then Friday night I get home and open my fog lights box, I hooked everything up, but just not to my car and thought to myself. I should have done them myself!
At that point I already paid him, so I was going to make him go through the "hassle" of doing it even though I could have very easily gotten it done. Monday comes, so I call him. He says mondays are always busy, how about tuesday.
(mondays and tuesdays were my days off)
Tuesday was once again too busy.
Wednesday was my day back to work, So I came in at 4 like I was supposed to. and he tells me, you gotta come in by at least 3 to give me time to do it, because I get off at 5. So im like fine.
Thursday I come in at 3, and he says Ill do it today. So im thinking yesss finally.
He takes my bumper off and says, you owe me food this is going to be a bitch to do. So I drove a block to get him some fuking wendys with no bumper or license plate in the front.
Then I see my bumper in the back of his truck, and he tells me he has to take it somewhere so they can cut it, and that he would need it for the night. So he takes my bumper for the night. So I had to drive around illegally with no license plate in the front, and I feel like a ricer trying to look cool or get "EXTRA SUPER DOOPER COLD AIR INTAKE" because my filter is sticking way out with no bumper (its the V2) and it just looks ugly as hell.
He tells me to come in to work at 10:00 am and he will finish it. It is now 10:35am and I called him, and his friend has my bumper and wont bring in it until 3:00pm today. I work today at 4:00pm but have a strong feeling my bumper wont be there. It is now Friday, its been one week since he said he would do it, and he doesnt work weekends, so if his friend doesnt bring it today, then hes gonna tell me to wait until monday.

no hes not a close friend. I just met him through work and started talking to him. I mean i know nothing is going ot happen to my bumper like he wont steal it or anything. He just keeps putting it off as its not important, though I paid in advance

never pay people until the work is finished. A downpayment arranged between the both of you is a good idea and give him the rest when the work is done. Keeping a certain sum of the moneyensures that he will do the workif he wants it, and it will do it with quality.If you pay people in advanced for a service, 90% of the time the service will not be returned as promptly as the money put up. keep that in mind for next time and anyone else who ever may get in a situation like this.
