Littleblackhatch Update!!!!
It was found! Get this:
Yeah, I said ****. (Somewhere an Englishman laughs.)
My car was found on Monday.
Not only was it found, but it was found with all my stuff in it.
Not only was it found with all my stuff in it, it was also found in (almost) perfect condition.
Not only was it found with all my stuff in it and in (almost) perfect condition, but it was found missing it's shift ****.
Not only was it found with all my stuff in it and in (almost) perfect condition, missing it's shift ****, but it was found less than two blocks from my apartment.
Let me re-iterate: My car, which the police have been "searching" for, (I know that they have because they sent a ****ing letter to my house, telling me when they were done searching) has been, this whole time, less than two blocks from my house. With ALL my stuff in it (except my sun visor CD's)... way to go, coppers.
Seeing her there, all broken into, glove compartment open and stuff everywhere... kinda hurt me worse than the theft in the first place. Someone was in my stuff. That's creepy. That's a violation. But I don't have to worry about it. She's not mine any more. She belongs to State Farm. They bought her from me for more than I paid for her.
Before anyone asks, no, I can't buy the car back from my insurance company. They already have it set up to go to a salvage place. No, I can't buy it from the salvage place, they auction it off to private buyers. Yes, I could get in contact with a private buyer and maybe have them bid for it for me, but that would be a car dealer... and I don't have the money for that.
So that's that.
But, what of the thieves? Ahh, the thieves. They left no finger prints on the car that the cops could get. Of course, they took the (metal) shift **** which may have had that evidence of their identity. You'd think that was smart of them, no? Ha. They left everything of value in the car. My tools, my speakers (one of which was sitting on the back seat,) the CD deck (the keys to get it out of it's spot were in my glove box... which they went through!) my shoes they could have pawned, my two books of CD's, all of the parts on the Civic they could have dismantled in 20 minutes... all of that they left there. I was-AM shocked. I never thought she'd be found in once piece.
I really don't know what to make of it.
But I'm glad I have my shoes.
Goodbye again Betty. For real this time. I hope you find a good, good home. This will be my last message to you.
