Life outside the Ride. (Brothers in Arms)
Anyone here ever see the world from the eyes of a soldier or policemen or even medic?paramedic . It stinks especially when your in theater (warzone) I am the brother of both a law man and soldier . Both have been in the middle east . Jake (RCMP retired)went over to iraq and taught a few courses on police procedure . i.e how to safely excute the pitt manuver excuse my spelling. While teaching this course two members of his class were gunned down outside the training center. By extremests. My brother told me he had just finished speaking to them as to the location i wont say he's home safe but someone elses brother has filled his shoe's. Thomas (recce) is in Afgan I don't sleep sometimes its not a easy thing. I know I should focus on my wife and son and be thankful for Jake home safe and sound but he was always surrounded by others in his field along with rapid U.S support. Tommy however is in foreward fighting position with the Canadian forces. His second day their base was hit by a rocket attack. One ofhis boot camp brothers lost a arm. He says don't worry. Ha!...man or woman when someone you love is in a war zone you tend not care. My uncle was amongst the Canadian service men who went to Nam and he called me out of the blue and said " Afgan is our Vietnam" I did'nt have anything to say on the matter as my voice would not work..I just saw a clip from Kandhar of wounded troops. I can't handle this Tommy's just kid man 22 with a hard on for danger. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Ah man who ever says we don't belong there can tell that to the parents brothers sister wifes kids of every servicemen be it US/ Brit /Canadian along with other forces...they have no clue . A soldier does not have theluxury of free thought..man he/she goes where they are told to . I wish the Brits / US leftmore troopsin afgan. Our boyz are not properly equiped for this. K thats it i am done if i keep going i am liable throw my tower and moniter into the wall. Sorry.....i needed somewhere to vent and to those i reminded of love one in theater or serving somewhere close sorry. But you know how it is. I'm to drink a triple rum and coke and maybe spark a dube.

Im a soldier. Family tradition. I have never been but my brother has.We are at the highest operational tempo ever, with more troops deployed than any time since Vietnam. America have been in Iraq longer than they were in WW2 and the boys on the ground, in that ****fight, don't even know why. We have changed the way we operate as a Defence Force. We have changed the colour of our ration packs to desert cams, we have been in the Middle East so long. Thank god that the big guys in America gave Bush 1 year to get out. Hopefully, me and my brother won't end up there before this god forsaken war ends. Im not proud to be a member of the Australian Defence Force when people start talking about the Middle East because its not my war. We shouldnt be thereand Ill be damned if its going to be my blood for oil.

I know, i am always thinking in the back of my mind that they are gonna call me outta my inactive status and deploy me. I got a lot of things going on in my life right now that i really don't wanna have to think about that.

From the letters and sat calls i get from Thomas things are pretty messed up. These holy warriors are ignorant why the CF are thier. I hope all the Canadian son's and daughters that have gave thier life get better treatment then our WWII Vetrans as the youth of today all over the world don't have one F..ing
clue what those men saw or did . My brother joined up to prove how tough he is...i was never able to get into some hero yelling in my face that my boots were not shiney enough. I did four years in a millitary school with a Canadian Special forces Pathfinder as my RSM and few other interesting soldiers including a retired USMC Gunnie who had the force reacon tat but always said it was something else then he would give me serious PT. I would have cracked already if i was in theater. Choas may god watch over you and may our leaders finally see the err of thier ways and focus on terrorism instead of oil. and if you run into any canucks over there and the crap hits..they'll have your back just as you have thiers.
Keep your head down mate...and make your rounds count.

I would not worry so much they have to rotate the reg forces way before the national guard/reserve is called upon. And even then they do a state lotto or something to see who gets called first. If your called like I said to chaos keep your head down and make your rounds count. and if know one else has the ***** to say i will . May our leaders see the err of thier ways and focus on terrorist's instead of oil.

They are said that they were gonna call up about 600 IRR MP's. Well me being an IRR MP, i am a little worried. Ohh well, i am joining the local PD around here, so if they pull me, i may get double paychecks!
