JDM ZC
I was looking in the engine bay of my friends 88 JDM import mk2 glasstop 16-16v crx and noticed that the engine code was just stamped ZC. Thought it was a little strange that there wasnt any numbers on it. Just thought somebody may know why?

RE: JDM ZC
Actually it's not the A6. The A6 is a SOHC non-VTEC, while the ZC comes in SOHC VTEC and DOHC non flavors. The DOHC is the JDM variant of the EDM D16A8/9 (depending on generation) and the SOHC doesn't really have a USDM or EDM equivalent. I don't exactly know why they're just designated ZC.

RE: JDM ZC
Actually the DOHC ZC is the same as the USDM D16A1 and I was wrong above I dont know what I was thinking but Kappa the SOHC ZC is nearly the exact same as a Z6. Stroke, bore is the same, compression is the same, the head is also stamped with a P08 number meaning it has a Z6 head on it along with a Z6 cam and valve terrain.

But no, the DOHC isn't the same as the D16A1 (this is a VERY common misconception). It's a D16A8/9 (depending on generation).
