I've had the worst day.

I've had the worst day.
This morning, after leaving my house, which had the garage broken into thia morning (missing mower, and some garden tools), I went to school. When I cam back out this afternoon, my car was gone, but whoever stole it was nice enough to leave my books, and a change of clothes that had been in the car in the spot where my baby had formerly been. My high school has had a problem with cars being broken into for stereo stuff, but never has a car actually been stolen, and the worst part is, the school isnt responsible for the cars in the lot because of some waiver everyone has to sign before they can park. I dont know what to think, I was so sure to lock my car because of all the stuff that gets stolen, but geez, my car isnt even the best in the lot, and I had a ton of CDs in the damn thing. My insurance is gonna give me some cash to buy a new car (hopefully an EK9 hatch), but its still disheartening to have your car taken from your own high school. Ugh, long day.

It sucks about your car. Doesn't it have an alarm? I know that my car has an alarm and it would be pretty hard for some1 steal my car, cause even if they disable the alarm, then the starter won't even crank.

Damn that sucks. Your first mod on your next car should be one of these: http://www.teamdelsolwa.com/howto/fuelcutoff.htm
Extremely cheap and almost impossible for a theif to find if you hide it in the right spot. I'd recommend underneath the shift boot.

No alarm, and even if it did, I nobody could really hear it because it isnt very close to school.
The cops said it was probably someone that wasnt a student or faculty member. There are always tons of cars cutting through school they say, and its true.

Its not the sound that the alarm makes that will keep a thief from stealing your car. An alarm (at least my alarm) will stop the starter from recieving power if the alarm is tripped. Pretty much, if your car makes the alarm sound, the starter will not turn because it doesn't recieve the power. I thought that if i cut the power to the alarm, then i could bypass the alarm, it doesn't work. (bored one day in a parkinglot waiting for my brother) But the fuel cut off is a pretty good idea as long as you hide it somewhere good but it only works if you remember to shut the fuel pump off when you get out of the car.

That really sucks, sorry to hear about your loss. You should start up a rally or something to shut down one end of the school parking lot so people don't cut through it. Getting the local police to swing through the lot ever now and then wouldn't hurt either.

Ever year, the school talks about having a cop chill in the lot all day, or installing cameras, but they said that if they do that, and anything happens to any of our cars, then they become responsible for damages, which they dont want to do. So its the kind of situation where youre at your own risk, but I have to take myself to school.
