a sticky is marked at the top of each section so that it never gets lost in the pages as new threads are created (ie so that it's always available to be seen) and it is usually full of useful info. So if you click on the "Headers, Intake & Exhaust" link, it will take you to another page with all of the threads relating to that, and separated from them are the stickies at the top of the screen
