At its peek, still growing, or on a downslide??
Well falling asleep last night, i was thinkin about if Import/Domestic tuning is at its peek or if the advancement of cars is going to kill our beloved hobbie sometime in the next few years..
Im hoping that, me being only 19. there are many more years for us before cars take flight lol..
Let me know what you think...

It is still growing. I dont think it will ever stop. Ever since cars came out people have loved them and enjoyed customizing and racing them.
Sometimes it blows my mind though how quickly it is moving. Back in the late 90s the best is around was the Teg type R. It was just king of the streets. Now with all the S2Ks, Evos, Stis, even the Elise. Just hard to imagine that in like another 5 years buying an 03 evo will be a decent car all around but the new stuff will crush it.

Yea, like i said before... back in the day, the only 4 banger that was respected, was a friggin john deer tractor engine. Now you got 4 bangers that could beat an old school v8 in reverse on a bad day!

i have, among other things, a fairly fast V8 car...which i also had in high school...
when i was in high school (some 8 years ago) it was VERY odd to see a "performance car" that didnt have a V8...it was amazing to see a civic or any other 4 cyl car at the drag strip...i think that its interesting...although i am a V8 guy...i give credit where credit is due...i lost to a low 12 second civic in my slower car last time out,..

i think it is slowing down a bit, but only because the wanna-be's that jumped on the FnF bandwagon are giving up, leaving room for the people who really like cars to stabilize things out a bit. people have always loved cars since they were invented, and they always will. things may evolve, trends may come and go, but there will always be people who keep the market for a fast car alive. sport compacts are just the next stage thanks to stiffer emissions regs, we may see high performance hybrid electric cars someday if this keeps up.
oh, well. just so long as i never lose to a .2 liter one-cylinder car. 'cause then i quit.
