i don't know if this was a thread already but i couldn't find one w/ this topc. what inspired you to mod your cars? my inspiration came from my brother in law's 75 corolla sprinter. it was the sweetest ride ever especially since he built it when this import craze was just starting to blow up. it had kind of a hot rod influence to it, i 'll post a pic if i can find one.

I actually started very young and was really interested in police cars (because everytime I saw one, it was going fast). But I didnt start modifying my car until after fast and the furious came out on dvd, It let me know that there were other people out there interested in speed also and you didnt need to spend too much money to make a fast car.

i'll be straight. it was Fast and the Furious that made me get into imports and tuning. but i also knew that 7/8ths of the car related things in that movie were utter bull****. i knew my fair share of cars beforehand...my grandpa collected vettes. but up until F&F i new **** about japanese cars and modding anything beyond the intake and exhaust was beyond me.

Jeez, I remember waaaay back in the day before I even had a license, racing on a home made dirt track behind my uncles house. I was about 12 years old, and he put me in the seat of his Datsun 280Z, with 4 on the floor . He then said "boy, go learn how to drive a manual." After hours of grinding gears, and eventually skidding off the track a few times, I got the hang of it. I have been hooked on driving ever since.
Tuning, on the other hand, was influenced by one car. An eg coupe that belonged to a college student living down the street from a buddy of mine. It had a body kit, cat-back, and a stupid spoiler, but at that time it was so awesome to us, because we were just getting into it. I remember sitting at his house with a few other friends, just hanging out, when we saw the first trailor for Fast and the Furoius. They flashed the eclipse grabbin' gears and racing by, Justin stood up and yelled "EVERYONE SHUT THE **** UP!!" We were glued to the screen like window lickers on the short bus. That movie kinda ruined the whole body kit/spoiler thing for us (which was a good thing), and all I wanted to do from there on out was build a turbo'd civic. Now that that's almost done, I'm getting my next project in mind
