I'll give one thing to GM...
with the release of the ecotec engine, they have really stepped up to the plate for aftermarket support for cavy, sunfire, or other sport compacts. They have a GM racing sunfire that does the 1/4 in 7 seconds.
But the most impressive thing is this: They released a book explaining everything needed to take the 140hp motor to over 1000
