I just found out that story is mostly false. Yes the bear exists but he doesnt way that much. Only a little over 1k not in the ball park of 1.6k. Also there were no contents in the bears stomach of human origin. Pictures that you might have seen are fake or have no relation to the bear. Dont belive me? Call the DNR over there.

 

If you worked for the DNR in a hunting/tourist place, would you tell potential visitors that horror story?

Why yes. After all, they are stuffing it and displaying it in the airport to warn tourists.

 

YES! I just talked to my buddy who works for the DNR back home. He said that they actually got paid to go to this convention up there to check out the bear and what not. It absolutely DID have human like remains in its stomach, however they were nothing to the extent of the pics i saw. So we're both right...or wrong, which ever way you look at it

I'm never going to explore alaskan forests with anything less then a 20 gauge. I don't care if this thing killed humans or not - it is very well capable of doing so and I would need something to protect myself.
