well i think its assuming RWD with all the parts that were originally belted to the engine. your ac lackage is probably what threw it off because it takes a lot more power than people think to power ac.

they are fairly reliable...horsepower is a function of of weight travelling at a given speed, in a given amount of time, or acceleration.
H=M x V
all of the horsepower calculators simply plug in the M and V, and it gives you the horsepower. mind you, this equation isnt the exact equation used, but it gives you an idea. All these ET calculators do is solve for V instead of H.
typically, the more accurate calculators use MPH rather than ET. the ones that give you an ET, or use the ET to figure out HP, are assuming a perfect pass.
I have never had my car on a dyno, but i know alot of guys who have, and when we compare trap speeds and weight, i have about 360whp, 425 crank hp, and at 3700lbs, its pretty accurate.
