RE: how do you drive in traffic? [manual cars]
When I was in San Diego I use to have an hour+ (25 mile) commute every morning and every evening. Your left knee will get very stong. Just figure out what's most comfortable for you and do it. I personally just shift to N whenever I'm stopped and gently let out the clutch in 1st with a tad of gas when traffic moves a bit.
One day it rained and it took me almost four hours to go 25 miles. Southern California drivers were taught by the devil I think.

I have to deal with stop and go traffic every day on the way to school. I dont really mind it tho, the only thing that pisses me off, when Im just crawling, and Im in first gear, and let go of the gas pedal, the car kinda shakes. Thats why im in second most of the time...

for sure, i love the manual. You dont have to do the whole auto go-cart gas-break-gas-break. Its more fun with the 5 speed. Not dissing the auto peeps in here. Sometimes i let out the clutch and let it pull the car by itself without gas, you gotta be going really really slow. I only have my engine for about 2 more months, NEVER do that on a tranny you wanna keep in good shape.

The subaru drives by itself in first with no gas or no clutch. So I do that. If its more stop and go i keep it between second and neutral. And i go slow enough that i usually dont have to stop very often

Just a tip, dont hold the clutch down all the time. You wear out the bearing.
But if you think that is bad, you ought to drive my civic around for a day.
