i don't know how it is on hondas, but my jetta also has this kind of setup. It makes it a pain in the *** to change spark plugs, since spark plugs are located directly underneath the intake manifold. Such a stupid layout. My favorite engine layout is the one they utilize in supras, 240sx, and bimmers (longitudenal layout?). It makes it much easier to get to everything.

i just used it as an example. I mean, supra and 240sx also have the same kind of engine layout. Never did I say that bmw>all. I'm sure there are other cars with the same engine layout - I just used the ones right off the top of my head.

this is the kind of layout I was talking about. You got your headers accessible from one side, intake and trottle bodies from the other, and spark plugs in the middle. 240sx has a 4-banger that is situated the same way in the engine bay.
