youd be surprised how fast those little cars can be.
my friend has one (and a firefly, and a swift)
he's doing a G13B engine swap (1.3L dohc) and i think he's gonna turbo it too...
trust me...he can pick the car up at one corner pretty easily...
the car should weigh around 1200lbs or so when he's finished with it....
these cars can be surprisingly fast....

but anyways, if i was buying something to build up and go fast, id say K20 or H22, or B18C (with Vtec) engine swap on a EJ hatch and boost it..
altho i hear the H22 are a bit heavy for those cars

 

i choose any other honda, you want a fast honda out the factory, id say honda s2000, it seems like ur only going for a car that would impress people, do your research and then go for a car, civics arent meant to be racecars out the factory,but their are many modsd you can do to them

 

well i raced my friends mkIII golf (stock) and i whooped his *** even when i missed 3rd. my 92hp ef was completly stock, and my friend can drive a stick fine. the honda was the faster car.

now on the other hand my other friend witha mkIII golf had a custom made intake, sticky tires, full exhaust and no cat. he beat me really good when my car was stock. he pulled by about 1-2 car lengths on me. but after my engine swap the situation was reversed.

so either car can be faster depending on how much your willing to spend.

 

actually it turned out that i'm not getting a vw or a honda i'm actually getting a miata cuz i heard that it can outrun a crownvictoria cop car....

Miata would prolly honestly be the best pick that u've mentioned so far. RWD, more hp than civics(about the same as a 6th gen SI), and out-handle all of the other cars(esp the vw's). u can find a good used one for a couple grand and good turbo kits for miatas run for about $3k. properly built and tuned and u have a pretty beastly car on the straights and on the corners..

u can also drift in a miata. i would imagine u would like that since ur favorite movie is prolly Tokyo Drift and since ur apparently the "DK" driftur
