I hear ya man. Manufacturers are just looking for reasons to avoid upholding warranties now. If you have the slightest mod, (ahaaaa!!!!) they void it and you're stuck.
Surely you guys know that it is illegal for a dealer to void your warranty do to aftermarket equipment right?

I don't even have to pay for oil changes or brake pads.
Holy ****, they would REALLY regret telling me that if I'd bought a mini. I'd be going through a set up brake pads every other week

Thanks for the link Bobby. I was kind of generalizing that statement. I know for example if you modify your exhaust, the dealer cannot deny repairs on your fuel pump etc. I've read some horror stories about dealers voiding warranties when an aftermarket part causes a problem, but I've never actually got to read that before. Probably stemmed from a lack of knowledge on their rights. Lots of scenarios possible on that note. 'Preciate it man. Sorry, not trying to jack the thread.

If it says in the warantee that modifying it will void this warantee, it voids it. Mitsubishi makes it very clear when you buy an EVO and MINI made it clear when I bought this.

Oh, and Andrey... I really don't think that the engine has anything in common with a 2.0 Neon engine. It's a 1.6 SOHC. I was pretty sure it was a joint venture between BMW and Renault.
