I judt realized someone just posted this again my reply is in that one but I think they should be considering themselves lucky that they didnt kill someone. i ahve helped respond to several street racing accidents with the police office I am a cadet for, and its hard when they hit someone who was not racing them.

 

ok for those of you saying: "part it out, auction or donate it to charity"

the point is to get the cars off the street.... not just put them into someone else's hands.

The point of crushing the cars is to destroy the parts, not just punish the idiots racing the cars on the street.

I honestly think it serves them right, they raced on the street, putting their lives, and others lives at risk. The same damage would have been done had they gotten into an accident, this way, they're lucky to not be injured.

As for the guy in Canada... that's bull****. Simply because the car is "modified" or has parts that would make it able to street race, doesn't mean that's the intention of the car.

Some cars are legitimately modified for AutoX or actual track racing, and are still used every day by their owners.

 

they tried this a few years back. personally, it makes no sense to do so, because, those few people are NOT the only people that have been caught street racing in cali. if they want to try and fix the problem, then they should be consistent and crush all cars they impound due to street racing. it should be all or nothing, it's not fair for a select few when their cars are crushed and the thousands of others that are caught aren't crushed as well. i don't condone street racing myself, simply because it's not pratical, but this "publicity stunt" isn't the proper way to carry out justice. btw, how many high end cars such as porsches and ferrari's do you think were caught doing the same thing or speeding at equivilent speeds in the area? i'll give you a hint. (way too many) but yet, you don't see news coverage on those cases because the owners pay their way out, which means the city is getting a hefty check for themselves. imo, this is just stupid.

and as to the law that you just your car PHONE TIPED ON.... THATS REALY GAY!!!!!!

SO BASICALY if you want to street race what you do is get a corvete or ferari or new cadilac, crossfire, or any other STOCK FAST AS F*** car..... and THEN they cannt say you modified it for street racing.... cause its already fully preped for most racing

what someone gonna report that you got a fast car..... just say.... ya thier jelous of my vette and lieing saying im racing... i want charges filed on them for purjruy and o whats that other one called... belittling thier name and rep... i cannt think of the term right now. like a attach on thier character. LOL

 

What cops don't realize is that a lot of these people are going to run, which is more dangerous than a race( I'm not saying street racing is safe by any means, though). I sent this to one of my friends thats attending college in cali that goes to those street race "events". He said a lot of guys are buying several sets of wheels and other things to make their cars unidentifiable the next day. Apparently some are even using an old mini truck mod where they put their tag on a window motor so they can hide it and haul a$$.

 

o ya those tag things are preaty cool BUT best one id say would be a flipper or rotator... that way you could have a REALY OLD liscence plate from one of your friends or swap meet old put it on the backside and then have it roll over.... or like 2 motors and plates... one up and one down... when in stealth mode just flip a switch and swap plates
or just the plate OVER a plate way to hide them...

personaly i like the rotate around plate... but they dont sell those kits...
preaty much like a gear drive setup... roll the chain one way the GOOD PLATE is exposed.... roll it the other way and the old/comical plate is exposed a simple power window motor and gears and anyone could build one

wow, i love living in an unimportant place. no one gives a **** about racing, andthis wont ever happen here. I got pulled over for racing a civic with my old ford tempo, and they gave me a warning... hahaha good times

 

kinda switching gears............I could be wrong here....but couldnt a 350 hp engine top out at more than 160 mph????
