The HCF Gun Thread

You're telling me. I've been trying to buy it for about 5 months now. My only regret is it's a 1st generation, so the barrel isn't threaded from the factory. Not a big deal since it's not much to get it threaded and flash suppressors aren't that expensive.
Yes sir!
Given that I'm within the city limits I think there might be some problems doing that. I'm not big on felonies

Almost pulled the trigger (lol pun) on a JP 3.5lb trigger spring kit and ERGO pistol grip today. I think I'll wait 'til next week to purchase, though.
Also, as of last weekend, a cheap laser sight is taking up some space on the picatinney rail
In other news, the Springfield XDM is now available in .45ACP. I know what I'm buying next month. Happy birthday to me
*edit: Bah, the XDM .45 won't be in stores until the 3rd/4th quarter of 2010. Looks like I'll be getting the Walther P22 first, then.

Just ordered a Hogue grip, 3.5lb trigger spring, and a Magpul AFG. Can't wait 'til they show up
*edit: Just got shipping notification a little bit ago. Hopefully my new toys will be here by the end of the week

Nice to see a LEO on the forums. Actually, I can't remember a LEO ever posting on HCF
Anyhoo, just pulled the trigger on a Magpul CTR stock, Magpuls (little rubber grips for the bottom of the mags to pull them out of pouches), and a rifle bag. After the rifle bag, I might be able to shoot the d*mn thing (I haven't taken it out for the lack of something to keep it in. Even in KY, waltzing around, even to put it in your car, with an AR-15 probably isn't a good idea). I've had it for over a month and haven't sent a round downrange with it yet... it's freakin' killing me lol
Also, the Walther PK is looking like my first handgun purchase. I've been thinking about it, and they're the same size, about the same price, and I eventually plan on getting my CCW, so the .380 seems a little better than a .22 for that kind of stuff. Hopefully I'll have it sometime next month

idk how much you are planing on spending but my dad said the other day the 9's are becoming so popular that they are near as cheap to shoot as a .22 so maybe that could be a choice too?

I'm sure 9mm rounds are dropping in price, but I don't think they'll ever hit the .22LR price range. Also, there's the initial cost of the handgun... the Walther PPK .380 is ~$340 brand new. Considering it will serve as a self-defense weapon for a short time before being replaced by the XDm .45, I think it will suffice
