Ah yes, replacing broken parts

No love for an AR in .308?

Ever shoot a Mosin? That's some good cheap fun right there! A little over 200 bucks for the rifle + a 440 round spam can of ammo! Plus, you get to own a little piece of history while you're at it. Mine was born in 1943! Shoots as good as the **** behind the sights.

Check this out: 34017 - Bersa Thunder Pro Ultra Compact Semi Automatic Handgun 9mm 3.25" Barrel 10 Rounds Black Matte Finish Read reviews about it. I can't find anyone complaining about the 9mm (there are some on the .380, but that seems to be because of the fixed barrel). That will be my carry gun when there's money + CCW/CCDW. Seems to be just as reliable as the Beretta, also metal (aluminum/alloy) framed, and has a manual safety de-cocker. You can get 13 round mags for it. All for about 200 cheaper than the Beretta. Not that those aren't nice guns. They are close enough in size/weight as a 1911 that you might as well just carry that instead!

1911 FTW! Told ya, Reaper - if you remember that

Edit: Another cool Commie gun (inexpensive - mine was well under 300) to look at is the M-57 Yugo Tokarov. It is based off the Russian TT-33, which was mostly a Soviet copy of the Browning High-Power. Look at the Yugo to get an extra round mag, 9 instead of 8, chambered in 7.62x25mm! If you've never read about the uniqueness 7.62x25mm, I suggest doing so Oh, and they bark really loud too! You'll get bewildered looks at the range because of the report!

The good news is the P12 finished its range day before breaking (mostly due to an ammo shortage. Have to keep some JHPs for home defense lol). Or at least before I discovered the pin had broken (went to confirm it was clear, pulled the slide back and half the pin fell out)

As far as the .308 AR goes, I haven't really given it much thought; I figure I'll finish my current build, build the AR57, and go from there. I'm not sure how I feel about Nagants, though. I'm sure in a few years when my taste in firearms matures a little (I'm still pretty deep in the "black rifle" phase obviously) I'll probably pick one up.

As far as a carry gun, that's what I bought the XD40 for. I'll probably end up using a Crossbreed Supertuck when I get my CCDW. The M9 will most likely remain a range queen; I'll have 1911s (and an AR57) for home defense, I'll have the XD for carry, so there's no need to go to a smaller caliber for any kind of defense (I'm not saying the 9mm isn't an extremely effective caliber, but I'm partial to .45ACP and .40S&W).

And I just did a quick google search of the M57; I swear I've seen someone post pics of one on another forum. I'll have to do some research from the looks of it. And I'll definitely have to read up on the 7.62x25; I've never even heard of it before lol

In other news, assuming I see any of my security deposit once my old landlord picks apart the apartment I might actually get some work done to my M&P15 lower

I really need to get going on that AR build. The lower still needs the stock/buffer assembly (the stock I'm getting comes with the receiver extension tube and buffer) and fire control group.

And the planned collection now includes 8 AR15s (including the 15-22 and current AR build), 7 handguns (3 XDs, 3 1911s, and the M9), 2 AK variants (WASR10 and Romanian PSL), 6 misc. rifles (ACR, SCAR, PS90, FS2000, Vector, and Remington 700), and a shotgun. It'll be a decade or two before I actually manage to get my hands on all of them

I kind of want to build an AR15 chambered in .50 Beowulf, as well... and I'm looking into an Armalite AR50. I need to find a range that goes out to 1,000+ yards, though; any less is a waste with the .50BMG.

To the top.

Over a year after I bought it, the AR lower will finally be done soon. I finally decided to stop putting it off and finally pulled the trigger (pun intended) on a trigger/hammer and lower receiver extension kit (hopefully everything will be here within the next week). The Hogue grip I had on the 15-22 has been switched to the M&P15 lower and the Magpul CTR stock that was on the 15-22 has been set aside for the M&P15 as well as the Magpul AFG. The 15-22 is now in 100% stock condition down to the springs.

The AR should actually be in range-ready condition in a few months. I'll still have some upgrades left to do on it, but I'll be able to at least put rounds downrange with it.

I just got a Benelli Super Black Eagle II 12 ga with full camo and the pistol grip stock. Best Shotgun I have ever owned. The semi-auto is as fast as you can pull the trigger, and it throws perfect patterns. Beware, the 3 and 1/2 inch magnum shells WILL knock you on your ***.
Other Guns-
Remington 700 .243 mountain rifle edition- almost too pretty to shoot
Savage Model 12 .204- one of the most accurate varmint rifles out there for 300-500yd shooting
Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 ga.- Grandaddy's Gun- Enough Said
T/C Impact .50 cal muzzleloader- Deer Slayer
Mosin Nogant 7.62x54- Can't hit the broadside of a barn
Marlin 30-30- Ehh, piece of ****
Rossi 20. Ga single shot- the cheap shotgun that surprisingly, is an excellent, lightweight squirrel gun
Sig Sauer Mosquito 22- I'm not much into pistols, but it is a fun little plinkster

I enjoy talking about guns and hunting, and compound bowhunting
