The HCF Gun Thread

$445 with taxes. And the handgun actually ended up coming in early today; I received a phone call at about 9:30 and was informed it had shown up. I'll post pics when I'm not feeling so lazy.
And with the 9rd magazine (I originally thought it was a 10-rounder), the grip isn't quite big enough for my hand; the gun is tiny and weighs next to next to nothing. I believe the spec weight is 26oz with the 9rd magazine.

I don't think it'll be terrible... I'm used to .45ACP through a 3.5" barrel. I won't find out until it gets a little warmer out. I'm not a fan of paying to shoot and it's a little cold for me to want to go out to a farm and test her out.

which one, there's tons of companies who make the 1911 my personal favorites are Kimber and Springfield, however I've heard some nasty stories about Kimber's customer care.
anyone ever shot an H&K p2000?

i shot my buddys springfield 1911. i dont like a metal frame gun. doesnt feel good in my hand. shoots well tho, but stovepipes after 2 magazines in quick succession. accuracy goes to hell too. i have put 300 rds thru my 24-7 and it has performed flawlessly so far.

My Para P12 is technically a 1911... it's modeled after Colt's Officer's Model. At any rate, 1911s are nice, but you wouldn't see me spending $1,200+ on a Kimber just because it's a 1911. Not to mention they're big and heavy, making them effective range guns and home defense guns, but there are way better home defense weapons out there than a 1911.
Anyway, Kimber makes a quality product but the magazines that come with their 1911s are absolute crap.
And I just realized I never posted pics of the XD40. I'll get pics up tonight.

I agree with the home defense comment. a 1911 is cool. but I have no reason to own one. I was just asking which one he was looking at for curiosity sake. I'd be hard pressed to spend that much on a 1911 too. I could see myself with an AR15 before that. or a .308 Remington 700 tactical. Of course not for home defense though. haha
