got to play with a friends glock 20 nite before last. i want one now. the difference btwn 10mm and .40 is small, but the 10mm carries MUCH more powder. not sure if the length of the slug is longer tho. it def has room to be. the cartridge is quite long compared to my .40. anywho, he said when he gets his new one, i can have this one for $150. he is in law enforcement, and goes thru 2 glocks a yr. wtf. i buy a gun to own forever...

I believe true M4s have a 14.5" barrel, but I was also under the impression all M4s were select-fire. Either way, you need to apply for a tax stamp from the BATF to build/buy any rifle with a barrel shorter than 16". A rifle with a shorter-than-legal barrel can be rendered legal by permanently affixing a muzzle device (flash hider/compensator) to the end of the barrel, effectively bringing the total barrel length up to or longer than the legal 16".

Anyway, I might end up buying that Spike's lower in the next week or two. I need to stop at my local favorite toy store (Bud's Gun Shop... the original location. Hell yeah, KY!) and see what's involved with shipping a lower receiver to them and how much they'd charge me. If it's reasonable (which knowing the folks at Bud's it will be), I'll probably get their info and make the order that night.

Also, I'll see if I can't get some pictures of the "finished" M&P 15-22 up tomorrow. I might just order some of the "shorty" 10rd magazines for it, too

I finally got off my lazy **** and took some "finished" pics of the 15-22:

The scope actually goes from 3x-9x, but with a 20' long hallway, focusing the scope is impossible at 6x, much less 9x (if you look at the last picture, the cross-hairs are out of focus)

First-gen S&W M&P15-22
JP Enterprise "yellow" reduced-power fire control group springs
Hogue pistol grip
Magpul CTR stock
Magpul Angled Forward Grip (AFG)
Magpul magazine pulls (aka "magpuls")
Centerpoint laser sight (zeroed at 10yd)
NcSTAR 3-9x42mm Mk3 scope (zeroed at 25yd)

I might still get a reflex sight and a 1-o'clock mount for use when I don't feel like using the scope, but that'd be about it other than 6 more magazines (3 more 25rd mags and 3 short 10rd mags).

And I got bored... here's a rough idea of what the "real" AR will look like when I'm done with it (using Brownell's AR15 Builder tool):

Went through about 150 rounds of .45ACP and ~200 rounds of .22LR today, only stopped shooting because it got too dark. I'm pretty sure the P12-45 needs a new barrel... the thing is all over the place and I have no clue exactly how many rounds have been sent downrange with it (it is something like 15 years old, after all), but I know the rifling is well-worn. The new scope on the M&P15-22 is freakin' ****. At something like 35yd it was grouping (and I'm talking 25-round groups, not this mall ninja 3-round group bullsh*t) in about a 2" diameter circle, and I'm not exactly Carlos Hathcock.

Hopefully I'll have that XD9 (or an XD40 if it's in stock and the same price). The P12 is a ton of fun to shoot, but at ~$0.44/rd, it gets expensive fast. Considering 9mm Luger is about $0.24/rd and .40S&W is about $0.30/rd, I think feeding one of those will be a little more wallet-friendly than trying to keep the P12 fed.

Well, bringing this back to the top.

I stopped in at the Gun Warehouse (AKA Budsgunshop.com's retail store) and ordered a Springfield XD40 Subcompact (3" barrel). Unfortunately, they didn't have any in stock, so they had to special order one for me. I was told 4-5 business days, so that should put it at Monday or Tuesday. Real pics then... until then, stock pic:

(That's with a Pierce grip extension. I'll be buying one for each 10rd magazine I have since the 10rd magazines are about half an inch too short for my hand to rest comfortably on the grip and the 12rd magazine is too bulky for my taste.)

How much was it? That looks like something I can hide in my purse.
