I'm a mod over on that forum just didn’t know if we shared the same owner for the forums....or even members. We tent to attract some civic owners for some reason

I love both my aks
After dropping my 74 in the river in some nasty mud and water she still shot as soon as I pulled her out. Iv found my gun for life not many rifles can do that.
....if I need some more fire power I pull out the 47
I was thinking that cus everything is set up very similar.

There's a reason the AK is one of the most popular rifle platforms on earth... the reliability is unparalleled.
But I like how modular the AR platform is. Don't like how the stock fits your shoulder? Swap it out. Don't like that annoying finger groove on your A2 pistol grip? Swap it out. Don't like the handguard? Swap it out. Not to mention the ability to hang pretty much whatever you want on the rifle wherever you want it on the rifle
Is there a point to tacti-cool gear on a civilian's rifle? Nope. But it looks cool
(and yes, I understand the AK is modular, but not quite as much so as the AR is)

ohh I'm not diss the AR platform my any means. I'm not a HUGE gun persona I just enough to get by...you seem to know lots about fire powa!..lol
I just fell in love after I flung my ak off the air boat and had to go fish for it for 30mins then she still shoot...I was so amazed
Now the AR's is what our troops use right?..

It's the civilian variant of the M4. The biggest difference is the M4 is selective fire giving it a 3-round burst capability (not full auto though) and the AR is semi-auto only. There are full-auto variants of the M4 (the M4A1 is full-auto if I'm not mistaken), but for the most part they're limited to 3-round bursts.
And I know a little bit... I just really got into guns a year or two ago, so I definitely still have a lot to learn
