i'd rather them release the demo, to give the company more time to troubleshoot and work out the bugs in the game and tweek a few things than rather be antsy and have no patience and want the game now! plus it's just a game, i really don't care, i don't really play them any more

 

hahahahahaha we were watching that this weekend when we were all hammered for like 45 minutes until somebody freaked out and realized what we were watching and then we laughed for a long tiem....funnier if you were drunk and there i guess haha

 

DING DING DING!!! that is the exact reson why i would like them to release a Demo, that way you can get a taste of the real thing. And the developers can work out the bugs.

 

You get my point wrong there. If they release a demo, they won't have time to continue developing the game, it's just a delay. It's a DEMO, not a public beta so they wont have the bugs worked out by releasing the demo. Every game has a deadline so delay cause by the demo will make the developers rush the game and come out with more bugs (not the other way around). A pre-release demo is very good for an average game so you can try it but not so good with great games like GTA (people will buy it to try it)

 

they hardly ever keep game deadlines, why do you think that they never tell you a release date up front? a very good example is HALO 3, they take a long time so they can work out the bugs. and the whole development team doesn't work on a demo, just a section of team works on the demo, and a demo is a type of beta testing.

 

Exactly, when they got delayed by releasing a demo, a good company will delay the game release and a bad company will rush the game. A demo and a beta is NOT the same, while the demo is a PART of the game that is finished, tested and release only as a marketing piece, a beta is unfinished, full of bugs, only available for a certain time and beta tester will provide tips for the developers to work out bugs and glitches.
