Getting pulled over on suspended plates!
What are the Consequences for getting pulled over on suspended plates? Particularly in Indiana or Kentucky? I have NY plates but were suspended because they are douche bags and cant get my car titled up were i live...

I believe you'll get a fine, but that'll probably be about it; it's an equipment violation, not a moving violation, so you won't get any points on your record or anything. Of course, that's coming from a friend who got pulled over for expired tags, but I'd assume it's pretty much the same deal.

Kinda the same in Arkansas. It's like an expired tag. You get a hefty ticket. Go to court and fight it if you think you have a case, but they'll probably say you shouldn't be driving it if its not all documented and ****. Good luck with that.

I found out that you have 30 days in KY to get the car you brought to the state registered. If they pull you over you'll get a pretty big ticket and have to have it done before the court date they give you. If its not done then, they can impound your car. Thats why I hate buying cars out of state here.

here if you get pulled over for outta state tag then u have til court to get new tag, if you dont have it done then ask for more time and then judge will give you an additional month, once you do get new tag, show judge ur new registration then its dismissed. no fines no court cost

Ok...i actually heard that they can go as far as impounding the car or arresting me on suspended tags....this is coming from my brother who was a Military Police...but i don't know how right he is...i think im just gonna say screw all the bs and give NY all the money they say i owe them...and get my insurance back to NY standards...

The county in which i live you have to pass emissions...My car has and OBD0 computer for OBD2 car so the only way my car will be allowed to do emissions is if the OBD2 connector works, and mine don't.

so doing some research..i looked at the citations for NY and for a lapse in coverage...you have to pay a fine for everyday the car is not legally insured...
* $8 per day for each day of the lapse from day 1 through day 30, and
* $10 per day for each day of the lapse from day 31 through day 60, and
* $12 per day for each day of the lapse from day 61 through day 90.
My car was i guess Illegally insured for 81 days...so i owe them 792 dollars in fines and i believe my cars plates will still be suspended for 81 days too
