sups everyone. i'm going to get me a dodge ram 2500 diesel tomorrow, not new or anything. its just that i need it. anybody else here own big trucks? first time to get me one of them american giants. its a diesel (cummins) so it has great mpg and reliability for a truck. its just hard getting used to it, i mean driving a small compact to a big truck. i'd appreciate any advice you guys and ladies can give me on her being that she is second hand and it being my first time owning one.

 

superchip, 4" exhaust and an intake and you will be really happy. Those 3 things will wake up any american diesel.

 

I was watching Trucks one time and they put this chip/computer on this diesel truck. You mount a switch in the driver's compartment and the switch has 4 settings (1, 2, 3, 4) and the higher the number the more power you get. That looked pretty cool to me.

 

Yeah i saw the same show, and after they put the highest setting man that truck could burn some major tires.

 

man those turbodeisels are fast as hell....i've seen them get 12-13 in the 1/4 mile...

 

Small cars = no respect on the road.....but you can wiggle in and out of traffic.
Big trucks = everyone will move out of your way if you tail gate them ....buddies will ask you to help them move from now on.

Change the oil....what year Dodge truck? Most Black smokers like to up the power...when you do get ready to replace the tranny.

I own a 04 Navigator. It is like comparing APPLES to WATERMELONS. lol!

Trust me, I love driving either cars. For the long trips, I take the Navi. And for everthing else, it's either the Max or the Civie.

thanks everyone. i was thinking about getting this truck for a while but i always said if i'd get a truck it would have to be diesel. its awesome.

its a 1996 dodge ram with a cummins turbo. i heard these beasts last 500,000 - 650,000 miles. thats a long long way to go. only bad thing i heard about these things are the trannies which go out after awhile.
