I've never actually had one spill in the car, but I agree that Honda engineers need to learn how to make some actually useful cupholders. My solution would be to drive like I do, when I have drinks in the car. Right hand holding the drinks in the cupholders, left hand shifting. I've actually got pretty good at it.

thats the only way i roll with drinks in the holders

My car doesn't even have cup holders! You would think that of all cars, a BMW would have one, but in fact it does not. I don't like it when people drink in my car, because of the numerous spills that have occured, but it would still be nice to have a cup holder.

Maybe get a Mountain Dew in a can. It should fit perfectly.

in the 95 civic the cup holder fold up. Its so flemsy and crappy. My right cup holder crack and broke from putting large water container. What suck is you can only hold cans and regular drinks and not supersize drinks or water bottles. That one thing honda is lacking is the interior. They are great with the engine but if they step it up a notch for interior then there car will be bad a$$

For a long time euro imports didnt use cup holders, on the other side in europe they actually looked down on cup holders. They found it tacky/lazy. Due to US demand they started doing it.

I think the reason for not having cup holders is because they dont have fast food resturant but then we americans started to introduce that stuff and they need cup holders. Europeans dont eat much fast food they usually go set in a resturant and have 6 course meals. lol
