Also, last time I checked modding a car is not cheap. It pretty much shows that they dont have a job and they live the life of toying with cars and some how whip out the cash for a turbo.
well to be fair, he did live on a boat

but c'mon man, you should have known as soon as you saw the title of that movie that it would suck. i don't believe its even worth watching for the rides. every one of the import is riced out beyond comprehension. for god's sake, the supra had a plexiglass hood. thats right, say it with me...p-l-e-x-i-g-l-a-s-s. on the set the hood actually melted a few times, jackasses didn't realize it was for show cars only. everyone of the cars for the movie in real life were slower than stock might i add. and whats with the skylines nitrous purge in the beginning? he's blowing out gas like last night was taco night. i'd say the only thing worth watching that movie for is the Yenko Camaro and Hemi Challenger. i don't really believe that you can be a true car person if you liked the first movie either. I cringed when vin diesel started talking about how he could drive faster if he started double clutching. if you don't know, double clutching is when you shift from one gear to another, you need to place the gear in neutral in between and match the engine speed (this was before synchros). i was in middle school back when that sh*t came out and even i knew that. also, how he just sped away from the cops right after he'd just "melted his piston rings". now, i'm no engineer at GM or anything, but i'm pretty sure your sh*t's only making a big getaway on the back of a tow truck if you fried your piston rings. i honestly think they just picked some terms they tought were cool and just popped em in there, not knowing what the hell they meant. not to mention that after the whole flamboyant pile of vomit, the whole "tunerz" trend started up and everything went to hell. it's kind of a similar effect that tony hawk had on skateboarding. one day you're just chilling with your friends at the skatepark, and then a video game comes out and next thig you know, everyone and there sister is swarming the place and running into you with their X-games target skateboard. thats enough rant for now, time to go enjoy my newly acquired summer vacation...

nos is qute flammable..or it would kill your engine

i also believe the first one was much better than the second one...though there was some real messed up **** in it. first off...why the aluminum plate in the floor of the eclipse? i mean...muscle cars i can understand cuz theyre so damn heavy...but with imports its gunna add weight if it does anything at all. second...ytf did it fall off when he hit the nos? that was just retarted...the computer says 'danger to manifold' or whatever..then his ****in floor falls out...i dont get it...there was just so many screwed up things...but if you dont look at the car aspect of it then its a good movie.

Tiger Woods did it for golf
Tony Hawk for skating
"Rounders" did it for Hold 'em
"Fast and Furious" for tuning

It's all good. You can't be old school until it goes mainstream, Baby. Think about it like this though- tuning goes mainstream, and that means big dollas. Companies make more money so they can spend more money on R&D to make better products and at lower costs. Kids spend thousands on body kits and tuna can zoom tubes only to get lit up at the track (or redlight) by someone who knows where to spend his/her money. You put another notch on your manifold and your rep as a "real" tuner grows. See, it's better for you this way.

btw- I think my favorite car in both movies was that Eclipse that gets trashed and spawned the ever popular exploding NOS controversy.

Well Sniper. Bravo on the great response BUT, the main company making big buxx of the ricers is APC, and they dont make jack $hit that will put a knock off CAI to shame!

that also means harsher coppas. now we have all kind of **** like ride height regualtion, exhaust db's, and in some states you can even get arrested for just viewing a street race now. and all those "big dollas" are going to the wrong companies like remmy said. besides, the only people spending alot of money on cars are people that knew what they were doing in the first place. the only economic effect from the movie is a bunch of 16 year old that duct tape on an apc canister, add some LED washer nozles, and some NAWS floor mats from pep-boys to make their car a "racer". if you looks closely at the beginning of the movie, there even a damn pep boys billboard. if the money was going to companies like spoon sports or shops like top secret, i'd be all for it. but instead it goes to kids that act like dumbasses and drive wrecklessly because they saw a civic like theirs drive under a semi in a movie

Yea, if 'big dollas' were the case to the right companies, a super charger would cost about $600 brand new these days [8D]. But Sniper, we arent flaming you, we were just making a point about where the movie has directed the average moronic because most of it has gone to APC and other outsourced people selling chinese $hit over ebay.

Yeah, I'm pickin' up what ya'll are puttin' down, but you can't tell me that Skunk2 didn't see a spike in sales after FnF and Need for Speed Unederground. I dunno, I say the more the merrier. Everybody knows who the posers are anyway. I think the only bad thing to come from heightened popularity of the import scene is the proportionally heightened awareness of the cops to it.

I will tell you what aggravates me more than kids who APC their car to death- the credit card racers. The guys who drive a brand new $20k Si into a performance shop and drive an 11 second car out and all of the sudden they are Vin friggin' Deisel. Don't you think the kids who put APC or whatever on their car would rather have a EVO2 or AEM?

Let me ask you this- some kid cuts grass all summer or flips burgers while he goes to school to buy the Civic that he has always wanted and he decides to go with an e-bay header because he can't afford 400 bucks for a DC, is he still a moron? Of course not, he probably just doesn't know any better.

*ehem* such as myself. i can see what you're saying, but at least hes trying to improve his performance as opposed to plastering his car with "NOS" stickers because he saw it in a movie. kids that genuinly want to improve their cars for love of the hobby instead of because its the "hella tight" thing to do right now are what will keep the industry alive in the future. companies may be making $ from the movie, but only because it is a fad to those who weren't devoted to the hobby in the first place. and the problem with fads is that they die out.
(btw, as remmy said, don't take this as a personal attack. we're just explaining why the movies no good)

Man, u guys really hate that movie.

Totally agree tho lol. I remeber watching, and btw i did NOT got to the cinema for this one. I simply watched it wena friend got it on DVD, I knew as soon as I saw the main look of the cars and the general "chit Chat" that it was going to spawn so many "RICERS" out there. I remeber when i but my first big exhaust on, it wasnt anything fancie but it did the works, every1 looked at me like i was a idiot or sumthing driving down the road, but after FF every1 started getting these mods.

DAMN U FF!!
