Well....engine swap will probably happen over xmas break...just so i have a nice open window without my DD.....
I dont have an engine hoist...and i kind need one and i was wondering what i should do?
Rent? (from where)
borrow (find someone who has one)
Improvise?

I was just reading yesterday on how to jack your car up and lower it onto the engine if you dont have a hoist. As I remember, they used 2 jacks and put them on wood blocks to get the car high enough.

Rent, buy, or borrow. DO NOT TRY TO RIG SOMETHING!!!
Engines are big heavy things, and tend to break things when they are dropped on them....I.E. Feet, people, floors, tools. LOL
So just spend the cash and do it right.

I don't think AutoZone will rent an engine hoist (not sure though) but they will sell you one for around $150. Check on Craig's List if anyone is selling one locally and you might be able to pick one up cheap. Definatly don't rig something, engine falling on you = really bad day.

ive been checking craigslist...but my dad doesnt want me to buy one cause he doesn't want it to take up space...but ill keep it in my room if hes gunna cry about it...who cares.....
well...i wont rig somthing up....i guess...
I really want to though....800 lb electric hoist at harbor freight is only 80 bux...lol

dont be a p*ssy and just get you and a friend to lift the engine up using only your back and waddle over the engine bay drop it down softly and use your foot to insert the motor mount bolts, kaapow motors in everybodys happy
