All the 6th gen D series blocks are the absolute same. The Y5, Y7, and Y8 all have the same block, pistons, rods, compression, and other small tid bits. The only things that change are the transmission, head, intake manifol, exhaust manifold, and ECU. The head design on the Y7 head is nice. It does not produce as much peak power as the Y8 but the tq under the curve is better. The first upgrade I suggest is not a head or a ecu.....it is a transmission. You get a 96-00 ex transmission and it has alot shorter gears in it meaning way better take off but your gas milage does not change being the 5th gears in the 2 transmissions have the same ratio. Then after that I would go with a 6th gen ex intake manifold.

No I think the first mod you need to do is the transmission swap.

marty's got a point, even at that low of miles, by the sounds of it, i bet he drove that car hard, i would get a tranny swap, then do the mini me, it would B a more wise decision!!

I am saying that because it is the best bang for the buck, at around $200 you have the ability with the transmission swap alone and a good driver to pull in the area of .6 seconds off your 1/4 mile.
