Default do you change your own oil?

As the title says, do you change your own oil? If so, HCF could use your input on something!

its so easy to do and prolly takes about the same time, if not faster, to do it urself rather than going there and waiting for them to do it. and its also cheaper.

The first oil change I did on my civic I actually took it to a 15 minute oil change place. The guy grinded the holy hell out of my gears and they overfilled it. Since then Ive done all my own.

The first two oil changes I had Honda do but that will be the last time. I just don't trust anyone else to do it right. I have heard of people having ended up with no oil or too much way too much. I know I will do it right.

what i would like to do is have a whole file of sorts, of oil change DIYs, so that some people who arent inclined to work on their own car, would see how easy something like an oil change is...and they may be encouraged to do more of their own work.

civicexracer, you submitted one alright..thank you!

but ANYONE else, who does it themselves, i would like if you could put together something that would help a completel newbie through the process.

well, as someone pointed out to me, alot of people are hesitant to work on their own vehicle because they think that it is very difficult, or they dont own enough tools. If we can get people to see how simple it is for something like that may boost their confidence. NO DIY is "too easy"...[8D]
