Default Dead Pedal?

I was reading the Car & Driver mag on the 7 Hot Hatches of 2007. Honda Fit Sport got 1st (which I'm hella happy about). But I read the cons about the car, and one of them was "No dead pedal".

What's a dead pedal?

I belive the dead pedal is the thing that looks like a pedal but it doesnt move bside the clutch. Its where you wrest your foot when your not depressing the clutch.

Cheers

yep xoop got it. its used more in auto cars. in auto cars it sits about where the clutch would be in a manual. its just somewhere to rest your left foot.

I bever use my dead pedal. Its too far to rest my foot comfortably. I acutlly rest my foot where the engine hood release lever is.

most cars don't use true dead pedals anymore.

back in teh olden' days (lol) the dead pedal were actually that: a pedal that stuck out from underneath the dash to the far left, that didn't move.

it was just there to rest your foot on.

nowadays, manufacturers just have raised firewall sections near the floorboard with usually a piece of hard plastic or rubber to rest your foot on.

i think i actually prefer the original dead pedals from the olden' days. lol.
