the thing i find funny is the fact that if is supposed to be a fictional book, but people are freaking out about it... kinda makes me think that they are actually hiding something lol

That's all fine and dandy ,just bear in mind it is a work of fiction.

isn't that what fiction is suppose to do? basically create an alternate world that seems so real, people will actually twist it into reality. parts of the movie do seem like it could have happened but just how much of it can be trusted?

IMO the movie was cool. i saw it twice and liked it both times. i have not read the book yet but really got me thinking about wanting to read it.

people believe what they want to believe. no one will ever be able to change that.

Yeah...exactly. Movies are an escape from reality. That's what we like about them but alot of people can't separate reality from fantasy. There'll be threads about this from people who have been fooled into thinking it's real. I merely offered a heads up for those that might not know the difference.

The movie was OK. It was rushed and I really didn't find anything special about it The book was more like a generic fiction book, not impressive to me at all. I could understand why people are protesting. If there was ever a movie that claimed that, say, judaism is false - it would immediately be labeled as anti-semitic and would never be released. Create something, such as "muhhamed code," and you will not only see protests, but people would get killed
Dan Brown said in his prologue that its a fictional book and isnt supposed to be taken seriously or as fact because he knew something like this would happen. IMO all the controversy is a bunch of BS.
I was not denying that fact. My point is the following: What kind of reactions would we see is someone wrote a similar fiction story about Muslims, Jews, or perhaps blacks? Heck, Jews were offended by Passion of Christ, which was really based on factual events. I think Christians are reacting in an adequate manner. Personally, I'm an Eastern Orthodox and the movie doesn't offend me at all - an educated person would never take it for a fact, because there are far too many inconsistencies. Also, all this controversy and whatnot will only cause people to do some research about christianity, which would probably cause more people to turn to religion imo.

i think most movies nowadays that have any type of religion in them is either christian or catholic. so people should be use to this kind of thing. just like THE CHRONICLES OR NARNIA, supposedly the author wrote that to upset the christians too, having magic and lions as gods and such.

for me? movies like that don't affect me really. i either like them or don't. i was raised a catholic but now its like whatever. we all believe what we want to believe, god (gods) or no god(gods).
