College Major or After High School Intentions
Most of you are around the age where you have either graduated from High School or are about to. What are your plans?
1. College, if so whats your planned or current major?
2. No college, what do you plan on doing with your life?
Me personally I am going to PSU as a Security and Risk Analysis major, the cyber security option.
Keep it friendly topics are open for discussion. But if something is deemed inappropriate or demeaning i will remove it from the thread and you will take a lovely vacation. love you guys <333

i graduated in june of 2009, i dont know what i want to do as a career so i took time off. i still dont know what i want to do but im enrolled at westmoreland county community college and i start this january. Im taking my basic courses and minoring in graphic design. My major is still up in the air seeing as i dont know what i want to be. im thinking of majoring in criminal justice but i still dont know. my mom keeps telling me to get into that cyber security because im good with computers but i cant picture myself sitting at a computer 8 hours a day, which is one of the reasons im not majoring in graphics.

This is how i look at the whole computer security thing. You sit in front of a computer for eight hours a day you are basically in charge b/c most companies will not splurge for a computer administrator as well as a head of computer security. Sooo, you will be able to dick around all day basically and then go home with a fat paycheck and do what you will with your money.

U of Texas at Arlington. majoring in electrical engineering.
and supersize its pretty common to not know what you want to do right out of high school. When I got out of high school i started college as a pre-med biology, changed to business, then wanted to go to pharmacy school, then chemistry, now i finally found home in EE. You just gotta go start takin classes and figure out what you like

A. im not good at it
B. im good at it but cant picture myself doing it forever
C. im good at it but theres no jobs in it
D. i like it but theres no money in it
i considered everything from graphic arts, computer repair, network admin, pharmacist, RN/DR, phlebodomy, surgical technician, trucking, music producer, stage crew (lighting, audio, ect for concerts), business, management.. those are all stuff i would love to do but they all have downfalls
graphic arts: no jobs / overpopulated / low pay
computer repair: overpopulated
network admin: no jobs
pharmacist: 6 f'n years of school, i dont think ill be alive in 6 yrs haha
rn/dr: i spend to much time in hospitals as it is
phlebodomy: low pay
surgical technician: long hours, always on call, cant stand that long
trucking: low pay unless your lucky / would get old quick
music producer: like thatll ever happen
stage crew: low pay
business management: overpopulated
idk, im at a loss haha.. ill end up picking one and dealing with it..
