Default Civic vs. M3

Which is better?

LOL jk jk

So I've got a dilema..I havent been throwin alot of money into my civic because my real baby is my 97 m3. The civic is a great DD but obviously the beamers where I get my fun. So now with college rapidly approaching I gotta decide what I wanna do. I can sell the m3 and really make my civic nice or I can sell the civic and put it towards the bee em dub. The problem with the m3 is maintenance is sooooooo expensive not to mention the premium gas. The civic however is of course so reliable but it doesnt have the flair or fun of an m3. So...mod the civi and lose the beamer...or lose the civi and make the bmw my only mode of transportation???

I do realize this is a civic site but try to remain unbiased and help a bro out cuz everybody whos ever driven an m3 can feel my heartache

first off how old are you? because if you 18 i would just hang onto the civic and spend some money on that and enjoy the nicer cars later on in life.

Tough decision for sure... Honestly, college is a time when every extra penny counts. I would actually crunch some numbers and see just how significant the savings are in driving the Civic vs. the Bimmer.

MPG's, routine maintenance, NON-routine maintenance (stuff thats bound to come up eventually like brake pads/rotors/calipers and other wear items)

Post some pics of each if you can

The E36 is highly overrated IMO. Granted, I'd rather have one than have a civic, but as far as cost of ownership and daily driveability go, the civic wins hands-down. I'm with jprommel, store the E36 and DD the civic.

if the m3 is just too expensive then maybe its not the right time to own the M3. but if you can handle it then i would keep the M3.

Well considering I beat like a dozen M3s this past Saturday at the BMW autox event, I'd say stick with the civic

seriously, a civic can be made just as fun as an M3. Obviously not rwd but can out handle and with the right engine mods, can be faster in a straight.

I agree with forty, look at the TOTAL cost of both cars in the long run including everything.
