Default Chances of keeping up with a BMW M5?

In a 5th gen Honda prelude? Cause I was right next to one on the freeway going 60. He kept looking over at me like he wanted to race. Why would he want to race me when hes got an m5. None of us initiate a race and I end up passing him into the slow lane. I then see him through my side mirrors coming in fast I then throw it into 3rd gear and floor it when he got close till 80mph then I threw it in neutral cause I had to turn. He flew past me after I let off which lead me to believe he was trying to race. He almost hit a car in front of him, haha. I believe he was trying but how did I stay ahead of him? Maybe he had an auto and his car didnt downshift? Or maybe he doesnt know how to drive and left it in 5th/6th gear? Cause I thought he would have owned me.

Seriously? The M5 is one of the fastest production sedans in the world. With more than twice the cylinders than a prelude the v10 engine in M mode can crank out more than 500hp not to mention neck snappping torque. Unless youve got insane boost you wouldn't have a chance. I can even out run a prelude in my jeep.

Besides, the M5 can do 60-100 faster than most cars do 0-60.

0-60 in 4.8 seconds, that's fast, but it's not like it's the only car on the street that can do that.

Do NOT, underestimate an m5, both in the e39 form or the e60 form. I don't know if you're familiar with bimmers, but make sure that it was an actual m5, lol. many 5 series are imposters with M5 f/r bumpers and rebadged as an m5 when in reality, there's only a 2.5 or 2.8 ltr under the bonnet.

... -.-

I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten that a prelude can also go 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. You seem to take for granted how impressive it is for a car to get from naught to sixty in under 5 seconds.

Guys Im not underestimating the M5. I know very well how much more powerful an M5 is then a prelude. Im just surprised how I kept ahead of him. I couldnt miss the oppurtunity to see how fast the M5 is in person. As someone said maybe it was just badged as an M5. cause I seriously stayed ahead of him up until I let off the gas. Or like I said maybe he forgot to downshift and didnt know how to drive the car. I just dont see why someone in an M5 would want to race a prelude. Maybe hes one of those guys that post on youtube about how theyre v8 mustangs or whatever beat a base honda civic.

Sounds like he was playing with you. He may have been ghosting you, laughing his butt off. And when you let off the gas just happened to be when he slammed his gas down.

Well I guess I got the last laugh then. He was probably laughing his *** off when he floored it thinking man I whooped that hondas ***. Then he probably felt like an *** when he found out I was gone because I had turned, lol!

I don't even think he cared. When you drive an m5 around town, everything kinda goes to a blur, kids with hondas are the last thing on your mind.
