How many people on the street are in that situation?

Unless you have crazy mods and nothing more to do then it would end up being a better idea.

RE: CARBON HOOD HATER'S!
i am going to be using my car as a nice weather daily driver and am looking into CF parts as well... but for WR only.. i will probably paint the hatch though as i think this will look funny .. the spoiler ,lip, and hood im going to leave CF .. but im also gutting my car and making my new system im installing in April removeable for when i go to the track.. also will be replacing seats as well.. once again not for looks.. but factory seats you slide around too much and its hard to shift/ebrake steer while sliding around in seat.. plus losing 30 lbs more will be nice.. my goal <<<2k lbs dry weight.. so 388 lbs shed will be hard without CF

RE: CARBON HOOD HATER'S!
I am going to get one, along with a cf hatch lid. To me it offers a couple things. One is of course looks and yes the other is weight. It's not so much how much weight a single part takes off your car it is a combo of many parts that help with it.
cf hood -20lbs
dont seem like much but watch this
cf hood - 20lbs
cf deck/hatch lid - 20lbs
a/c removed - 25lbs
p/s removed - 20lbs
passenger airbag removed(cf tray in it's place) - 20lbs
hatch/trunk carpet/sound deadining removed - 10lbs
spare tire/jack removed = 15 to 20lbs
That is around 130 to 140lbs not to mention lighter weight rims would take about 50 more pounds off so that knocks around 200lbs off your weight. It all does matter and it all does help. I also did not bring up aftermarket exhaust which are lighter, a short ram is lighter than the factory airbox, I could keep going.

yes one more i forgot.. CF mirrors which i looked into.. but the CF airbag tray is something i just noticed people on here talking about.. does this remove the passenger airbag altogether? and what is it like as far as any probs reporting to insurance?

RE: CARBON HOOD HATER'S!
The cf airbag tray got brought up because of me, I bought a 96 hatch shell and it does not have the airbag in the passenger side so I bought a tray to delet it all together being it does save weight, IMO looks good, and I did not want to go through the hassle of installing another airbag. I say if the airbag is in your car and fine then do not mess with it. I never would have if it would have been in this car I bought.
BTW I got the tray in today and it looks great.
