I put a carbon bonnet/hood on my civic a couple of weeks back and since then ive had nothing but mixed views about it, which I have found most amusing.
There isnt a lot of cars around my area with this type of look, so everybody just thinks my car looks stupid with this black hood on it. My friends and people who are in the know think it looks cool as hell, where as people at work just dont get it.
The thing I found the most funny was when my mum told me the little old lady next door had passed comment on it saying to my Mum ' Why has he put a black hood on his car, that was a lovely car and a beautiful colour, now he's just wrecked it'. I nearly fell about laughing.

 

yeah i hate that when people don't understand something. i went to a 311 concert, it was the 3-11 day show and no-one i told knew what day it was on, i was like are you dumb it's march 11th.

 

Well... there is a fine line between good and bad taste of CF body parts.

 

like the carbon fiber unpainted fenders on the s2000 in the new honda tuning. ugly

 

It’s all a matter of personal taste. I understand the point of buying a carbon fiber hood but would want to paint it if I put it on my car....I would never tell someone it looks bad on there car though. If you're happy with it than that's all that matters.

 

Yeah I was wondering about painting it, but im worried how the finish may turn out. Plus my civic looks more agressive with it this way.

 

I also don't see the point of a CF hood. Post some pics.

 

I will get round to taking some pic's soon, my car is filthy at the moment and its impossible to keep it clean in this rain we keep getting.

 

A good body shop should have no trouble painting it to match...it will probably look better than the factory hood....they will most likely blend into the tops of the fenders too in case of a slight paint variance.
