Default Car Sponsorships?

Hey guys I recently signed upon CarSponserships.com just for fun to see if they had any sponsorships. After I found out that it was an $89 set-up fee I said to myself screw it and just exited out of it. A couple days later I got avoicemail from a guy onthere telling me that there are some sponsorships available. So I guess my question is have any of you guys ever signed up for this and if so did it pay off?

My friend did it. Basically you pay $89 and they send you some stickers and give you some tiny discounts that youll never use. The sponsorships they have available are Quasi-Sponsorships. You slap a hugesticker on and some company gives you a 10% discount. Its a PITA. The only way youll get a real sponorship is by dropping oodles of money into your car and winning shows. Even then itll be tough to get one.

correct. they used to be a sponsor on this site, and while they are a legit company (they do what they promise), i dont know that i would ever do it.

ive typed this same response at least a hundred times...whats one more? [8D]

ive known two people who went through them for sponsors, of "show cars".

the "sponsors" they were given was a sponsor from a decal company, and a partial sponsorship from someone like clarion..maybe MTX.i dont recall. they didnt get anything for free, but they got discounts on stereo stuff. the one guy said that he got some discounts on stuff, and he made his money back, but he didnt re-up.

however, another guy i spoke to was building a race car, and the decal sponsor that he got from carsponsorships.com got in touch with him, and he got the entire car done in vinylreal cheap...

ive heard of one other person who spent YEARS with the same sponsor, and they were pushy about when and where he showed the car, and after a few years, they gave him tacky seats.

True, the only way you get a good sponsor is if you do something crazy or drop a ton of money into your car.

Thanks guys, that's what I was thinking...it seemed kind of absurd that they would give you free stuff just because you signed up and what-not.
