car knowledge fast
In the fall I'm starting a honda/acura tech program to become a honda mechanic and I need to learn a lot about cars fast, inside and out. Does anyone know of a good book explaining all engine components, electrical, transmission, etc. Or perhaps a really good website? I've searched around but haven't found anything covering all areas or that looked that good for a book. Anyone know how I can get my hands on an all out tech book? Any input would help.

But seriously anyone can learn. I went to a tech school for IT, and there were dudes that couldn't even type in my class during the first semester. And I'm not talking about only typing 30 words per minute or so, I'm talking about one finger pecking style. By the end, they graduated with flying colors.
Just soak up as much knowledge as possible along the way and you'll be great.

If you don't know anything about cars, you should find a program that will teach you from the beginning. There are some programs that assume that you already know how a car works (esp manufacture specific programs). In the class, they teach you what is specific to the manufacture. I know that UTI has manufacture specific classes but to get into those classes you have to already have passed the basic automotive school. Just make sure the program you are getting into teaches you from the beginning b/c I don't think you will be able to learn everything about cars from the internet in a short amount of time. You could also pick up a automotive book. In my high school autoshop class we used Modern Automotive Technology. THe book starts from the beginning but it also has more advanced chapters. Every system has 2 chapters, one for basic understanding and one for more in-depth understanding.
