Will I be able to get my car smog checked even though it has an aftermarket intake? THis is in CA, so im kinda worried the car I bought wont pass smog. And also in order to register it you must have a smog certificate correct?

 

Correct. In order to register you must have a smog. If you just bought it the previous owner is required by law to smog it.
The aftermarket CAI....does it have a CARB or EO stamp on it? If it does you are ok...if not buy a stock intake, an aftermarket WITH the stamp (AEM) or borrow one.

 

i no one guy on here had his car tested and it faild with the CAI, im not sure what he ended up doing, but like he^ sead..just put your stock one back in for a day

 

I dont really get how cai can affect smog.

 

They have to take a reading from the intake to make sure you dont have smog or anything else coming back up into the intake. I hate Cali's rule on smog checks. its gay as ****.

 

The previous owner didnt have any smog paper work, and also the number on the engine below where it says b18c doesnt match the vin #, will this be a problem?

 

I heard democrats are banning all cars in kalifornia next year. You'll be going back to horse and buggys,stage coach,etc
and just like smog tests, if it works the rest of the country will be following in ten years.

 

it was because it was ebay crap, most brand name intakes are CARB tested and come with a sticker
